The Colorado Funeral Directors Association:

  • Monitors state and local regulatory issues that impact funeral service 
  • Represents Colorado funeral service professionals at the local, national and international levels
  • Promotes high professional standards and ethics through the Colorado Funeral Service Board
  • Provides concentrated education and professional development opportunities through seminars, listen and learn teleconferences, and annual convention 
  • Offers discounted registration fees at association‐sponsored programs
  • Promotes colleagueship and idea‐sharing at professional networking functions
  • Offers additional benefits through strategic partnerships, such as special pricing for NFDA music licenses,   risk management insurance, retirement plans, long‐term care insurance, and the CFDA MasterTrust
  • Answers member questions through phone calls, emails and a network of colleagues
  • Serves as a link to the world outside of funeral service
  • Provides consumer tips, resources and information about funeral service
  • Assists consumers by helping to resolve complaints about funeral service
  • Publishes an online directory of member establishments and supplier resources

There are two types of membership in the Colorado Funeral Directors Association: 

    Funeral Establishment Membership
    Any funeral service enterprise which exists for the purpose of providing funeral services to the general public within the state of Colorado, whether constituted as a sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation or other legal form of enterprise, upon application in writing and remittance of dues as prescribed by the Board, shall be considered an establishment member.

    Membership shall extend to all employees within establishment member firms. Representation shall be through designated delegates and alternates. 

    Only establishment members shall be entitled to vote and will do so through designated delegates. 

    Establishment Membership requires dues and membership in both the CFDA and the National Funeral Directors Association. Dues is calculated based on he total case volume for all establishments under common ownership (primary and branch/affiliate locations). A base fee plus per case fee applies for CFDA and NFDA dues. 

    All dues payments must be submitted directly to the CFDA and must be paid in full before February 15 each calendar year.

    Allied / Supplier Membership
    Any individual or enterprise providing services to or through those who provide funeral services to the public, whether constituted as a sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation or other legal form of enterprise, or providers of funeral service in areas outside of Colorado. 

    Membership shall extend to all employees within allied member firms. 

    Allied Members are not entitled to vote.

    There are no individual memberships in the Colorado Funeral Directors Association.
