DORA STAKEHOLDER MEETING RESCHEDULED
The Director of the Office of Funeral Establishment and Crematory Registration at the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) has scheduled a stakeholder meeting to discuss rules and standards for Colorado mortuary science regulations.
Senate Bill 15-110 enacted changes to the Mortuary Science Code and DORA’s Director will promulgate rules to:
- Establish what constitutes custody;
- Define care facility, repository, and entity;
- Establish who is authorized to identify human remains at a care facility for a funeral establishment or crematory;
- Prescribe minimum standards for the positive identification and chain of custody of human remains.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday afternoon, February 17, at the DORA offices in downtown Denver. CFDA leaders will participate in the meeting and members are also encouraged to attend and weigh-in on the discussions.
